Exploring Dependent Clauses

  • Although containing a verb and subject like an independent clause, dependent clauses do not form complete thoughts.
  • They can't really exist on their own, and they need the help of an independent clause in order to function properly in a sentence.
  • Dependent clauses are used to expand the meaning of the independent clauses.
  • In this lesson, you will learn about dependent clauses.
