Procedure:
Students should read the lesson, and complete the worksheet. As an option, teachers may
also use the lesson as part of a classroom lesson plan.
Excerpt from Lesson:
The
five paragraph essay is the basic essay
format you will use throughout your school
career. Since we already know how to write a
paragraph using a simple format, we will
apply the same rules to write an essay using
different types of paragraphs.
Paragraph #1- The Introductory Paragraph
The INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH sets up the rest
of your paper. It is in this paragraph that
you will need to GRAB the attention of your
reader. The easiest way to do that is with
your first sentence. Using this simple
format, the first sentence is called a
GRABBER. With this statement you will do
exactly what it says- GRAB the attention of
your reader or audience.
