Geography Acrostic Poem

 


Students create a geography acrostic poem.

Objectives:

• To describe the human and physical characteristics of a particular region as expressed through an acrostic poem.

Suggested Grades:
3rd Grade - 4th Grade - 5th Grade

 

  

 

Lesson Procedure:

Print the lesson plan (see below).

Lesson Excerpt:

Materials: Geography class textbook, “GEOGRAPHY” Acrostic Poem worksheet, pen/pencil, library books about the selected region, internet web sites about the selected region and other resources approved by the instructor

Note: Region can be the mountainous region of the state or the Great Plains [flatlands] of a particular state.

Timeline: One Week
