Print the classroom lesson plan and worksheet questions (see below).
Lesson Excerpt:
Introduction
“Let’s start off today’s lesson by talking about balance. What does it mean to balance?”
Allow time for student answers. Write them on the board. You are looking for students to acknowledge that it takes an equal distribution of weight. They may not use these words in their explanation, but you are looking for this meaning.
“So, you could say that balance is about something being equal or an equal distribution of weight.”
On Board: Draw a basic scale. In the middle of the scale put an equal sign so the top of the scale looks like this: _________ = __________.
