ALGEBRA LESSON CATEGORIES
POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE NUMBERS
		Introduction to Positive and Negative Numbers This lesson is designed to introduce students to positive and negative numbers. It also covers comparing and absolute value. Positive and Negative Numbers: Addition This lesson teaches students how to add positive and negative numbers and how to compare quantities after they are added together. Positive and Negative Numbers: Subtraction Students will learn that subtraction is about taking away -- whether this is regarding positive numbers, negative numbers or both. Students will also practice adding and subtracting when absolute value is involved. Positive and Negative Numbers: Multiplication Students will learn how to multiply positive and negative numbers together. Positive and Negative Numbers: Division Students will learn how to divide positive and negative numbers, and how to solve problems when more than one operation is present.

ONE STEP EQUATIONS
		One Step Equations: Addition Students will practice solving one-step addition equations that contain both positive and negative numbers. Students will learn the term VARIABLE and its definition. One Step Equations: Subtraction Students will learn how to solve one-step subtraction equations. One Step Equations: Multiplication Students will learn how to solve one-step multiplication equations. One Step Equations: Division Students will learn how to solve one-step division equations with both negative and positive integers. One Step Equations: Decimals Students will learn how to solve one-step decimal equations. One Step Equations: Fractions Students will learn how to apply their knowledge of fractions to solve one-step equations.

TWO STEP EQUATIONS
		Two Step Equations: Introduction Students will learn how to solve two-step equations. The Distributive Property Students will learn how to simplify expressions using the distributive property. Combining Like Terms Students will learn how to simplify expressions by combining like terms. Combining Like Terms and The Distributive Property Students will learn how to use the distributive property to combine like terms. Solving Two Step Equations with the Distributive Property Students will learn how to solve equations using the distributive property. Two Step Equations- Variable On Both Sides of The Equation Students will learn how to solve equations that have variables on both sides of the equation. Two Step Equations- Solving for Missing Variables Students will learn how to solve for a missing variable when there are missing variables on both side of an equation.

SOLVING EQUATIONS
		Combining Like Terms and Solving Equations Students will learn how to solve equations by combining like terms. Distributive Property with Variables on Both Sides of the Equation Students will learn how to use the distributive property to simplify and solve equations with variables on both sides of the equation. Using the Distributive Property to Combine Like Terms and Solve Equations Students will learn how to use the distributive property to combine like terms and solve equations.

EXPONENTS
		Exponents Introduction Students will learn what an exponent is and how to evaluate problems with exponents. Exponents: Evaluating and Factoring Terms and Expressions Students will learn how to evaluate and factor terms and expressions with exponents. Exponents: Multiplying Terms Students will learn how to multiply terms that have exponents. Exponents: Dividing Terms Students will learn how to divide terms with exponents.

PATTERNS AND FUNCTIONS
		Patterns and Functions: Introduction Students will learn about patterns and how to determine pattern rules. Patterns and Functions: Types and Rules Students will continue to learn about different patterns and pattern rules. Patterns and Functions: Function Machines Students will learn about and work with function machines. Patterns and Functions: Writing Equation Rules Students will learn how to write an equation rule for a function table. Patterns and Functions: Creating Function Tables Students will review writing equation rules for different function tables, and will learn how to create a function table from an equation rule. Patterns and Functions: Function Table Equations Students will learn how to write equations using the clues hidden in the function table. This will begin their preparation for graphing equations.

RATIOS AND PROPORTIONS
		Ratios and Proportions: Ratios and Unit Rates Students will learn about ratios and unit rates. Ratios and Proportions: Proportions Students will learn how to identify proportions and how to solve proportions. Ratios and Proportions: Proportions in Problem Solving Students will learn how to use proportions in problem solving. Ratios and Proportions: Proportions and Algebra Students will learn how to solve proportions that have algebraic expressions in them. Ratios and Proportions: Solving Problems with Similar Triangles Students will learn how to use proportions to solve problems involving similar triangles. Ratios and Proportions: Proportions and Percents Students will learn how to use proportions to solve problems with percentages. Ratios and Proportions: Percents of Change Students will learn about percents of change.

RATIONAL NUMBERS
		Rational Numbers Introduction: Ordering and Comparing Students will learn about rational numbers. Rational Numbers: Adding Students will learn how to add rational numbers. 		Factoring: Factors and Prime Factorization Students will learn about factoring and prime factorization. Factoring: Greatest Common Factors Students will learn how to find the greatest common factors of both numbers and monomials. Factoring: Factoring Polynomials Students will learn how to factor binomials and trinomials. Factoring: Factoring Polynomials with More Terms Students will continue to learn how to factor polynomials. Factoring Trinomials Students will learn to factor trinomials. Factoring Trinomials: Positive Negative Signs Students will continue learning to factor trinomials into two binomials. Factoring Trinomials: Quadratic Trinomials Students will learn how to factor quadratic trinomials. Factoring Trinomials: Differences of Squares Students will learn to factor squares and the differences of squares.
